Here at Investors Intelligence, we are continuing to add to the charting functionality on our website, and value to the service our subscribers receive.
This month has seen us extend the long-term history viewable
on our charts. Where available, data now goes back to the 1960… helping form that all important “big picture”. Note, when viewing large price moves over longer period of time, it is often advisable to use a log scale. You can do this by checking the box found at the bottom of the chart setting found on the right hand side (see example of the Dow, right).
Volume Indicators are important tools for confirming price action & trend. We have added On
Balance Volume and the highly regarded Stockcube VAD indicator to our toolset. These tools are excellent for identifying turning points in stocks. For instance, take look at this chart of AstraZenica. The stock pushed to a new low in March, but the VAD indicator was basing out over this period. This was a clear bullish divergence…… just the kind of signal need for bottom fishing this unloved sector! To view these indicators, click the Volume (edit) button on the indicators panel at the right hand side of the chart and then select VAD, OBV or straight volume. To help subscribers utilise these functions, we will be illustrating these functions on our hotline over the next few weeks.
